All sheet music cabinets are fitted with open sided drawers. This design works best for handling the sheets of music cradled inside the cabinet. However, we are happy to take any of our designs and customize it for you with regular drawers or an optional writing surface. We'd love to hear from you with your ideas.

A few words about our cabinets from John Stass, the designer…
Over the past 14 years, we have crafted and shipped our work world-wide. Our customers say we make the finest music cabinets in the world. Not to be too full on myself, but I agree. However, what we are really crafting is a collection of cabinets that solve problems. Our cabinets are designed to help our customer organize their sheet music. I believe that everyone has their own method for instilling order into a library of music.
You might arrange the drawers by composer, or by theme, or even by the degree of difficulty in playing the piece. These are just some of the ways our minds might propose to order music within the compartments of our sheet music cabinets. Regardless of the type of music you play, or the volume of your collection… Katahdin Studio has a cabinet to meet your requirements and preferences.
Our customer feedback suggests that our music cabinets are “time machines”. This is because our cabinets help to store and rapidly locate even rarely used sheets of music, so more time is “found” to actually work on and enjoy the piece. You can go from your music file to your instrument in a matter of seconds… even the shortest intervals of time can now be filled with an impromptu practice session.
It is also important to mention that our music cabinets are beautiful. I challenge anyone to find a selection of better looking music cabinets anywhere. Our cabinet makers are artisan grade. Each craftsman makes each cabinet one-at-a-time.
