Paintings by John Stass
John Stass founded Katahdin Studio Furniture in 1997 following careers with L. L. Bean, Inc., and as a quality control business consultant with The COS Group International. While immersed in his business vocations, John has always been grounded in art. Perhaps the success of Katahdin Studio is resultant from John’s ability to combine both the functional and the aesthetic in designing and producing exceptional pieces of furniture.
John has long credited his time in front of the easel for renewing his creative energies for furniture design. His furniture is found around the world, as well as in every one of the 50 states.
A few years ago, John received a phone call from a state official with the request that he participate in a summer-long exhibition at the Maine State House. John’s immediate conclusion was that the state wanted to include his furniture in an exhibit to showcase “Made in Maine” products. To John’s surprise, the actual interest was in his paintings. Having exhibited at the time in only a small number of local galleries, this was taken as a significant honor.
In recent years the paintings of John Stass have been well received, and he is now dedicating more time into their creation. John is pleased to offer them to a wider audience through the Katahdin Studio Furniture website. It is hoped that you will enjoy John’s paintings. Each painting presented here is for sale, and special commissions are welcomed. Please call 888-783-2969 for more information.
