Guitar Display Cabinets
In the 14 years we have been in operation, we have crafted and shipped our guitar display cabinets to every corner of the USA. Our customers reward us with continued business. It is not unusual for our customers to have ten pieces or more of Katahdin furniture in their homes. We even have a customer who has a total of 4 guitar display cabinets… so far. In fact, we have accommodated personal collections of at least 80 guitars.
Our guitar cabinets are built to solve special storage problems. Guitars are in every way works of art. Our cabinets protect them as such, but allow convenient accessibility… promoting frequent enjoyment of the instruments, and full-time visibility. Would you hide paintings in a closet that have taken you a life time to acquire?
Regardless of the style or the number of guitars you own, Katahdin has a guitar cabinet solution for you. We pride ourselves in our custom designing capability to meet your every need. Custom features may include low heat lighting, lockable doors, and special glazing and mirrored cabinet back-panels.
It is also importance to mention that our guitar display cabinets are beautiful. I challenge anyone to find a selection of better looking guitar cabinets anywhere. Our cabinet makers are artisan grade. Each craftsman makes each cabinet one-at-a-time. From selecting and milling the wood, to cutting and shaping each component, to assembling the case, to fitting the doors, and to applying the hand-rubbed oil finish… every Katahdin guitar cabinet evolves as a singular piece of art, and is signed by the artist who created it.
When visitors come to your home, they will without a doubt inquire about your Katahdin cabinet. The quality is obvious… even to those with the most casual interest in guitars. Nothing in the musical space of your home will upstage your Katahdin guitar cabinet, except perhaps for your prized instruments, and the talent that plays them. Our cabinets are indeed “Bentley’s” for the music room.
Our cabinets are made to order in our shop in Lewiston, Maine USA. We use only fine materials and proven techniques to create the most suitable environments for safe and convenient instrument housing.
It is commonly believed that one can have any cabinetmaker build a viable guitar cabinet. However, many builders see the project as a “fatter” gun cabinet. But in reality, there is much more to the design of a proper instrument cabinet. At Katahdin, we know how to angle a guitar within a cabinet to bring out the best in the art of the guitars. We know how to cradle your guitars within the cabinet’s space to maximize the protection of your prized pieces. All contact points are padded and felted so that there is no “wood to wood” contact between your guitars and the cabinet. The doors are sized properly to frame the features of the guitars to their best advantage. Don’t let the uninitiated experiment with designs that come at the expense of your collection’s wellbeing. Granted, Katahdin cabinets are not cheap, but consider that your investment in one is about the same cost as many quality guitars.
